Franco comes home... - November 14, 2005
Posted: November 14, 2005

I picked up the bass again this week. After a break of more than 2 months, I decided it was time to pick it back up and play. I'm glad I had some time away - I missed playing the bass. And there's still so much I want to learn and improve upon.

I intend to set aside 1 hour a day, two times a week for bass practice. I know it seems like a pathetically small amount of time but I figure that if I set my goals really small and make sure that I don't overdo it, I won't have any good reasons to avoid doing it. Besides, my interest in bass guitar competes for time with my interest in swing dance, hiking, and Warcraft III (or whatever computer game I'm currently up to mastering).

I am trying to be smart about this: distribute my time among many interests rather than focusing on one at the exclusion of others. Goodness. It's hard.

So how is the balancing act going, duder? I'm thinking a cool way to do this is to take your bass dancing, while wearing a Warcraft-enabled wearable computer, tied into your neural network. Everytime you hit an Am, your feet twirl one way and you build a catapult. Then, when you go to Bb7, or whatever, you bring down the ice storm and do the splits.
