Franco Mail -- A New Musical Project and a Gig -- 3/31 @ St. Elmo's Coffee Pub, Alexandria -
March 20, 2007 Posted: March 20, 2007
Hey Folks, It's been a while since I've sent anything to this list and that would largely owe to being on my hiatus from things musical. But here I am, back with a new-to-me musical project, Jumping for Strangers, that I have been slowly getting to know over the past couple months. The band members are very nice and down-to-earth and so is the music. Everyone seems to ask what kind of music it is when I mention that I've been playing with some new people and I haven't fully coalesced them into a concise genre-bending description yet. At this point, I can say that the music is largely comprised of Folk and Rock as a base, and is seasoned with smatterings of Reggae, Disco, Funk covering a very large tonal and rhythmic range. And all of a sudden, I have written lots of words that do very little to give a person an idea of what it all means. But you can come out and hear what it sounds like for yourself. It'd be good to see you. Saturday, March 31 -- 8:00pm - 10:00pm -Franco |
